Seriously though, I love that scene in Aladdin where the Giant Sand Tiger rumbles on after he gets rudely woken up for nefarious reasons—almost as much as I love these gorgeous glasses from @thewinesavant that I got for Christmas. I wanted to stir up something dark and handsome to show these bad boys off, so here we are. And it’s February so love and diamonds and stuff❤️

I went the Old Fashioned route, building around a strawberry balsamic shrub (that is absolutely delicious and you should probably make right now). Strawberry and chocolate are obvious friends, as are balsamic and chocolate. No surprise, they all work beautifully together. The chocolate notes come from this particular rye whiskey and the bitters and are then transformed by the Cynar to give it a lovely depth and bittersweetness that kept me coming back for another sip.

Recipe

Stir all ingredients briefly and strain into glass with a #clearice block (from @truecubes). Express and include lemon twist. Cheers!!
