Beach Wisdom

I’ve been enjoying some much-needed time at the beach this week. To get into the mood, I threw together this recipe and tried to bring as much tropical goodness as I could into one glass. In case you’re wondering, I had the coconut cachaça sitting in my fridge, but it’s really easy to make if you have coconut oil.

The drink is, as intended, a tropical delight. It’s heavy on the pineapple and passionfruit with a rich backbone of coconut. The cachaça funk fits in nicely with the fruit, as does the tropical delicious spice blast from the falernum that was kindly sent to me from @thebittertruthcompany.

Recipe

  • 1oz coconut oil fat-washed cachaça (silver)

  • 1oz pineapple rum

  • 0.25oz falernum

  • 0.5oz passionfruit syrup

  • 0.75oz lime juice

  • 0.5oz pineapple juice

Combine all ingredients and shake with a few pebbles of ice until dissolved. Dump into glass and fill with crushed ice. Garnish with fresh pineapple and pineapple sage (more on this later). Cheers!!
