Rose Colored Glasses

First of all, happy National Cocktail Day to all my fellow drinkstagrammers and cocktail enthusiasts! I would be remiss if I didn’t post today, of all days, a cocktail (with a bonus mocktail version!) to celebrate. Today I have a very pink drink quite literally served in rose colored glasses, but hopefully you won’t have to wear yours to see what makes this drink delicious [Dad joke alert🤓].

I was kindly sent a bottle of Rose Nectar from @drinkpurerose, which smells literally like a ton of freshly cut roses. The drink I came up with is a Southside at its core (my fav), with the addition of the rose nectar and swapping some of the syrup for a sour cherry liqueur. Cherry + mint + rose are a really awesome combo, especially with the refreshing gin/citrus behind it.

For the mocktail version, I used Seedlip Aromatic instead of gin and a homemade cranberry rosemary shrub instead of the cherry liqueur. Definitely a great option for a non-alcoholic drink!

Recipes

~Cocktail~

  • 1.75oz London Dry Gin*

  • 0.5oz Sour Cherry Liqueur*

  • 0.75oz lemon/lime juice

  • 0.5oz rose nectar*

  • 0.25oz simple syrup

  • 5 mint leaves

~Mocktail~

  • 1.5oz Seedlip aromatic (@seedlip_na)

  • 0.5oz cranberry rosemary shrub

  • 0.5oz lemon/lime juice

  • 0.5oz rose nectar*

  • 0.25oz simple syrup

  • 5 mint leaves

Combine all ingredients, first slapping the mint against your palm. Shake with ice until chilled and fine strain into your rose-iest glassware. Garnish with cherry and fresh mint. Cheers!!
