Board Flipper
[#ad]
Today’s next sponsored drink for the @catanpisco and @settlersofcatan collaboration goes out to all the really competitive types. You know, the one that can’t stand to lose, who may even resort to showing their displeasure physically, flipping the game board and all its contents. I admit, I’m really competitive with games, though I can’t claim I’ve ever gone full flip.
The drink is, you guessed it, a Flip-style cocktail. If you’re unfamiliar, this is a drink with a whole egg. Stay with me here, it honestly comes out tasting like a rich, boozy milkshake. So get some fresh eggs and give this one a try. Grapefruit pairs beautifully with the pisco, and I added a little depth with a lighter, less smokey mezcal. The subtle notes of coffee are a great accent and almost give the drink a breakfast vibe. I used half & half to tone down the richness a bit, and I still enjoyed the cocktail during this never-ending summer.
Recipe
1.5oz Catan pisco
0.5oz mezcal (@mezcalverde, gifted)
0.75oz grapefruit liqueur (@paulastexasspirits)
0.5oz simple syrup
0.5oz half & half
1 whole egg
2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
1tsp whole coffee beans
Shake all ingredients without ice to incorporate. Add ice and shake until chilled. Fine strain into coupe, take a sip, and reset the game board for another round. Cheers!!
