Year Of Plenty
(#ad)
Drink number 3 of the @catanpisco and @settlersofcatan collaboration is a riff on the classic pisco sour (pisco, citrus, sugar, egg white). The inspiration was the Development Card named “Year of Plenty”, which made me think of Thanksgiving. To make a pisco sour fit for the holiday, I brought in cranberry, orange, and cardamom— a tried and true flavor combination.
Besides the gorgeous deep ruby red color, the flavor here is amazing. The orange liqueur really brings out the floral/citrus notes of the pisco, and the tart cranberry adds some juiciness without overpowering the other flavors. With a hint of cardamom and some berry/anise notes on the nose from the bitters, this one will take you right to the Thanksgiving table!
Recipe
1.75oz Catan Pisco
0.5oz Cointreau or other triple sec
0.75oz unsweetened cranberry juice
0.5oz lime juice
0.5oz simple syrup
2 dashes cardamom bitters (I used @scrappysbitters, gifted)
1 egg white or vegan foamer
Dry shake, wet shake, fine strain into coupe. Garnish with Peychaud’s bitters (into Catan logo if so desired). Cheers!!
